Instructions For Use:
1. Apply the correct PPE which should include wearing disposable gloves.
2. Take a composite sample of individual cow’s milk directly from the cow from all four quarters or take a sample of milk from the bulk tank and keep refrigerated until test is undertaken.
3. Find a clean, dry surface that is protected from heat and plug in and turn on the COMET8 heater block. Wait for COMET8 heater block to come up to temperature (62°C). The machine will sound when ready.
4. Using the pipette supplied, take a sample of the milk to be tested.
5. Remove the foil from the testing vial and deposit milk to be tested into the vial.
6. Dispose of the used pipette.
7. Place testing vial into the heater block, place the magnetic cover over sample and input ID for the sample.
8. Wait two and a half hours for the result.
9. Repeat for each sample of milk to be tested.
10. A clear red or green indicates pass (green) or fail (red). At this point, the sample can be removed from the heater block and discarded.
Shelf life for vials:
1 year from date of manufacture.
Storage of vials:
Store between 5°C to 16°C. Keep out of direct sunlight.
